Frequently Asked Questions.
Do you offer backups?
At the moment we are offering 10GB FTP space for your backups, included on each VPS plan. You are protected against a hard drive failure on the host, as we utilize hardware RAID mirroring across multiple drives. However, this is not a substitute for proper backups.
Can I upgrade my VPS?
Yes. You can upgrade from one plan to another by sending a request to our support team. All your data, configuration profiles, and IP addresses move with you to the new virtual server.
Can I buy extra IPs?
Yes, contact support and provide justification for the extra IPs. They are €1.5/month.
Can I have an internal IP?
Yes, each virtual server is assigned an internal IP. You can spread your services over different virtual servers and then have them communicate via your internal IPs.
How am I billed?
We currently offer monthly, quarterly semi-annual and annual billing cycles. If you are interested in pre-paying, open a support ticket and we can accommodate you. You can terminate your contract at any time. The residual balance will not be refunded.
Can I manage my reverse DNS?
Yes, of course.
Can I configure my own firewall?
Yes, iptables works like a charm with our virtual servers.
How many VPS do you host in each node?
It depends on the size each user buys, but there is a fixed limit of resources on each machine. Our current production servers are 16GB quad core servers.
Do you provide Console access?
Yes – via an Ajax web terminal in our control panel. Note: console access is different from SSH and can be used if you lock yourself out.
Can I reboot my machine?
Yes. All VPS can simulate both soft and hard reboots. These are performed instantly and handled via our control panel.
How does the CPU scheduling work?
Each virtual server is assigned a fixed weight based on the memory size. So, for instance, a 1024 has 4x the cycles as a 256 under load. However, if there are free cycles on a machine, all virtual servers can consume CPU time. This creates a leveraged environment that allows smaller VPS to likely consume cycles as needed, but still protects larger VPS that require higher loads.
Can I reinstall a different distribution or start over?
Yes, you can perform a fresh reinstall. We offer a choice of many different distributions.
What happens if I brake my system and have not access to it?
No panic! You will be able to boot a special rescue mode which will allow you to mount the disks and fix the system. In the worst case, you will be able anyway to make a backup of your data and start over with a new installation.
Can I load a custom Kernel?
Yes, we use pygrub for it.
